Barrett, Robert “Bob”

Robert “Bob” Vincent Barrett, age 86 of Friendswood, passed away on February 7, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ella (Casserly) Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Dummett) Barrett; son, Luke Flannery & his wife, Jeanie; daughters, Judy Smith & her husband John and Kathy Fontaine & her husband, Ray; sisters, Dorothy Merritt and Rita Licata & her husband Sal; grandchildren, Missy, Jenny, Robyn, John and Stacey; great-grandchildren, JL and Dailey; and a host of many other family & friends.

Robert was born on December 3, 1923 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was married for 55 years to Helen. They resided in El Paso, Texas before settling in the Friendswood area. Bob retired from the U.S. Army and further went to work for the US Postal Service until he retired in the mid 1980s. Bob & Helen travelled broadly with their family while he served in the Army. Europe held especially happy memories. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his garden, learning computer skills, and researching and learning about any topic. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

    Baby Barrett is losing all of his hair. He looks like you!!! Wish you could have met the little guy! Dailey is taking care of him and misses Bob! And don’t worry, we are taking care of Grandma. She misses you dearly as do the rest of us. I love you.
