Catherine Louise (Flori) Workman, age 39 of Pearland, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 7, 2010. She is survived by her parents, Leonard & Patricia (Brennan) Flori; husband, Chris; children, Steven and Lori; sisters, Lisa Nicholson & her husband Patrick and Karen Logan & her husband Aaron; father-in-law, Gary Workman & his wife Nadya, and mother-in-law, Katrinka Bootsman & her husband Kees, and a host of many other family and friends.
Cathy was born on December 30, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. She resided in Pearland since 2008 and also lived in other parts of Texas and Florida throughout the years. Cathy and Chris established One Life Church in Pearland where she oversaw the children’s ministry and worked as the financial secretary. In her leadership with the church, she helped to spearhead many service projects in the community. She was also a 3rd grade teacher at Wilder Elementary (Alvin ISD). She had previously taught school in Tampa, Florida, but opted to be a full-time mother when she and Chris had their first child. Cathy was a devoted follower of Jesus and her faith was strong and steadfast even during her illness as she became incredibly inspirational to all who knew her story. She was a kind and caring person with a sweet nature who was loved by everyone she met. Because of her battle with cancer, she brought others to Christ with her strength and conviction. Cathy was a shining example of a tireless wife and mother. Her children were precious to her and she was so tender and nurturing with them. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that could light up any room and for continuing to make a difference for others with her positivity, courage, and service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CaringBridge One Act of Kindness campaign or to the Workman family.
Visitation for Catherine will be on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service is on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel. Interment is at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.

Praying for you all and mourning Cathy’s loss (but mourning with hope).
My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:76
Psalm 16:11 “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
Chris….even though I am not at One Life anymore…it does not mean I have not thought about yall. I have prayed for a miracle for Cathy every day. Just remember the great times and know that she fulfilled God’s purpose for her on this earth with faith in Jesus and in a Godly way. I know your pain, and it hurts me to know you and your family are going through it. But it does get better, and she is in heaven now, looking down, and smiling. God bless.
I worked with Cathy at Wilder Elementary and she was always so sweet to me. She will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Thank you for sharing her story with us, I wish I was able to know her, praise God I will know the new and improved Kathy in heaven. My deepest condolences to the whole family.
I am very sorry to read about Catherine. A life cut short is very hard to deal with. Please let the God of Comfort take care of you at this time through the pages of his word the Bible. “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev 21:3,4
