Neville C. Gomez, age 93 of Houston, passed away on July 6, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian Webster & Mabel Gomez. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gomez; sons, Errol Caballero & his wife Gloria, Karl Gomez, & Ray Gomez & his wife Shay; daughters, Merle Flemeing & her husband Osbert, Linda Saddington, Lystra Toyloy, Annette Gomez, Lynette Gomez, Jennifer Gomez, and Deborah Gomez; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Neville was born on September 26, 1916 in Trinidad, West Indies. He and Sylvia were married for over 61 years. Through hard work and dedication, they both came to America by way of New York City in 1969 with hopes of providing a better life and opportunity for their children. Neville was known as “Sap”, “Nevo”, “Mr. Neville”, “Daddy”, or “Old Daddy”–all terms of endearment to his family. He loved being around them playing games or telling stories to make everyone laugh. If his children were sick, he was very attentive to them and stayed by their bedsides until they got well. Neville never got stressed or let himself be bothered by anything except if his family was having troubles. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, the lotto, or horse racing, always hoping he would win the big one so he could share the winnings with his kids. Neville was a loving husband and father and he leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love for everyone.
Visitation for Neville will be on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service is on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel. Interment is at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.

My sorrow and sympathy goes out to my Houston family, the Gomez’. My love and prayers are with you. Love, Couisin Erica McLean

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your dear loved one, Mr.Gomez. Please allow these words to comfort you during this distressing time. “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3,4
