Grossman, Steven “Steve” Richard

Steven “Steve” Richard Grossman, 46, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013.  He is survived by his parents, Robert and Terri Grossman; his loving wife of 15 years, Amber Maree Grossman; son, Jacob R. Grossman, daughter, Alyssa K. Grossman; sister, Lisa Kensil and her husband, Doug; grandmother, Pat Grossman; uncles, Gene Grossman, and his wife, Elo, David Grossman, and his wife, Fenlyn, Robert Friedman, and his wife, Linda; nephew, Lucas Kensil; his favorite cousin, Roberta; loving pet “Berta”; and a host of other family and friends.

Steve was a very bright and intelligent individual that worked as an I.T. Security Specialist and was recently certified as a C.I.S.S.P. professional, a certification that less than 90,000 people hold worldwide.  He was a wonderful son, husband and father that was always available to help anyone with solving problems.  Steve was one of the go-to people in the Harris County Hospital District and everyone went to him for help with their I.T. problems.  He was the epitome of a family man and enjoyed sharing his love of music with his children.  Steve even was able to pass on his love of playing the bass to his children.  He got special enjoyment from watching them play and sing.  Steve and Amber cherished spending time together, always finding activities to share with their children.  Such as taking cruises out of Galveston, vacations at a beach house, tubing down the river and several trips a year to their hometown in California to stay close to family and friends.  He loved cooking, marinating and creating wonderful meals for his family. Steve lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A memorial service for Steve will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Scholarship Donation Fund for Steve’s children, Jacob and Alyssa. If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to Grossman College Fund and mail to 3036 Price Court, Palo Alto, California 94303-4101. The family would also like to special thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.   An additional Memorial Service will be held in California at a later date.

  23. The Phoenix Family Says:

We live down the street from Steve (on Stratford) and I just learned today from another neighbor about his passing. I am very shocked and saddened to hear of this as I never knew his name in the 7 years we have lived here but remember his friendliness and smiling face when he biked around the block with his son. He always waved and said hello and I remember him sitting on the porch and waving whenever we would pass by on walks. Please know, Amber, that you are in our thoughts and prayers and if there is anything we can do for you, don’t ever hesitate to knock on our door!
