Obituary of Carlota Lopez Carmona

Carlota was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She met the love of her life Guadalupe and married at the age of 25. They lived a fruitful life together raising 8 children, all born in Toledo, Ohio. Her children were her greatest joy in life, raising them all in La Porte, Texas.

Carlota made a career of working with children. She worked as a cafeteria employee and then transitioned to working as a handicap school bus aide. She left this occupation after 15 years of service. Carlota had many passions in life including cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and raising her many feathered friends, her parrots. From the time she was very young, Carlota understood the meaning of hard work. She was known for her generosity and human compassion. There was no one who knew her that wasn’t touched by her vibrant spirit. May Carlota rest in eternal peace.

Carlota was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Ophelia Lopez; siblings, Justo Lopez, Jorge Lopez, Consuelo Lopez Ramos, Cleotilde Lopez Curiel, Jesus Lopez and Julio Lopez. She is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Carmona Jr.; sister, Carmen Lopez Ramirez; children, Grace Ferris, Sue Budd and husband Mark, Delia Carmona, Velma Carmona, Belinda Thompson, Elvia Meldrum, Benny Carmona, Javier Carmon and wife Jackie Carmona; grandchildren, Mark Ferris, James Ferris, Jacob Budd, Sheila Meldrum Oscarson, Stacie Skillman, Breccia Carmona, Anthony Carmona, Seth Carmona, and Aaron Carmona; great grandchildren, Kylar Ferris, Jareth Hernandez, Kamden Ferris, Morgan McWhirter, Grayson Ferris, Cillian Oscarson,  Kaydence Ferris and Violet Budd; and a host of other family and friends.

Services for Carlota will be held on Saturday, March 30, 204 with a Visitation at 12:30 pm and Funeral Service following at 1:30 pm in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. (201 S. 3^rd St. La Porte, Texas 77571)
