Ada Mae Sterling's Obituary
Ada Mae Sterling, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ada Tischhauser; and her husband, Glen Sterling; son, Johnny Ray Reed; brothers, John and Fredrick Tischhauser; sisters, Ruth Tischhauser and Delores McKie. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Debbie Sidman, Donna Davis and Lisa Reid; great grandchildren, Sagan, Zach, Breonna, Danielle, Alexa and Rylan; great-great grandchild, Ellie; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Ada was a long-time resident of La Porte and graduated from La Porte High School in 1947. She worked for nearly 30 years as a cashier for Weingarten’s Grocery and loved every minute of it. Children were very important to Ada and she worked for a time in a daycare where she could shower the kids with her love and affection. She enjoyed traveling and watching the Friday night wrestling matches. Ada was strong in her faith and truly loved the Lord. She was active at her church and was always available to help with church functions. Ada will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Ada will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 10:00 am at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505 with DJ Dickerson officiating.
