Alberto Yamuta Galicinao's Obituary
Alberto Yamuta Galicinao, 76, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Silverio and Maria Galicinao. Alberto is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Zenaida Galicinao; sons, Casil Galicinao and wife, Elaine, Albert Galicinao; daughters, Mavi Maceda and husband, Jaime, Brenda dela Cruz and husband, Isidro; brothers, Indalecio, Cesar, Silverio Jr., Carlos, Alfredo, Dominador and Raul; sisters, Lilia and Pacita; and a host of other family and friends.
Alberto was born July 23, 1939 in Oroquieta City, Philippines. He was the ninth of ten children and studied Mechanical Engineering at the Mapua Institute of Technology. Alberto started his public service at the Province of Zamboanga Del Sur and became the Chief of the Equipment Pool of the Engineering Department. He entered local politics at the height of the People Power Revolution in the Philippines and eventually retired as a Provincial Administrator. Alberto was an active sportsman and a music enthusiast. He was greatly known for his advocacy against corruption and championing the causes of the poor, oppressed and elderly. Alberto was a loving and devoted father that never missed an opportunity to tell his family how much he loved them. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation and prayer vigil will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with the prayers recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77025 with Father Roger Estorque officiating.
