View Tribute Book Alfred Earl Lentz passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 79. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Martha (Schmidt) Lentz. Left to cherish Alfred’s memory are his loving wife, Anna (Thornhill) Lentz; son, “Skip” Alfred Lentz Jr and wife Sharyn; daughter, Cheryl Morgan and husband Stephen; sisters, Carolyn Grisbee, Ada Griffin, and Marcella Caskey; grandchildren, Jason, Juan Jose, and Christopher; along with a host of many other family and friends.Alfred was born in Houston, Texas, on November 8th, 1944. Growing up Alfred was raised on his family’s farm and later attended Lamar University where he earned a Civil Engineering bachelor's degree. He went on to have a successful career as a civil engineer and public surveyor, even forming his own engineering firm. Alfred was a wonderful husband, father, and provider for his family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed saltwater fishing, bird hunting, and in his youth, frog gigging. His other interests included model trains, restoring classic cars like his 69’ Chevy short bed and 66’ El Camino, traveling with his wife Anna, and finding the best German strudel and beer. Alfred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Alfred’s family will receive guests at a Visitation on Monday, July 1st, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. (5530 W. Broadway St, Pearland, Texas 77581) Funeral Services will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, commencing at 10:00 am, at Epiphany Lutheran Church. (5515 Broadway St, Pearland, Texas 77581) Interment will follow the funeral service at South Park Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Epiphany Lutheran’s building fund.
