Alfredo Ceballos Barajas' Obituary
Alfredo Ceballos Barajas passed away Monday, March 8, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Seberiano Barajas; mother, Petra Ceballos; loving wife of 55 years, Lupe Cantu; brothers, Raymond Barajas, Luis Barajas; and sister, Patsy Lucas. Left to cherish Alfredo’s memory are his sons, Alfred Barajas and wife, Sharon, Robert Barajas, Mark Barajas, Paul Barajas; daughters, Norma Barajas, Irma Barajas Hancock; brothers, Roy Barajas and wife, Lucy, Rudy Barajas and wife, Hilda; Sisters, Mary Valdez, Ester Moreno and husband, Daniel; sister-in-law, Alice Barajas; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and a host of other dear family and friends.
Alfred was born the third of eight children. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957 during which time he parachuted into Germany and was stationed with the 25th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, Battery A as a gun crewman in Karlsruhe, Germany. A strong discipline was indoctrinated by Alfred while serving his Country and he never expected anything in life of anyone that he would not do himself. Alfred loved to play and watch sports, especially baseball. He was an avid Astros and Colt 45’s fan. Alfred played on various teams in the Houston, Richmond and Rosenburg areas including the Ryan Indians with his younger brother Roy. Alfred was a hard worker and wonderful provider for his family. He worked as a fabricator and retired from McDermott Industries in 2006. Family was extremely important to Alfred and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to cook and barbeque, especially for family and friends. Alfred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation and Rosary service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. The visitation will be held from 5:30 - 8:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 6723 Whitefriars Dr., Houston, Texas, 77087.
In Lieu of flowers, Alfredo's family is requesting donations be made to his memorial fundraiser.
