Alice Marie Teinert's Obituary
Alice Marie Teinert born June 13, 1926 at Walburg, Texas to Otto and Frieda Braun Teinert one Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Baptized July 4, 1926 at Zion Lutheran Church of Walburg. Attended Christian Day School at Zion until the 4th grade. Family then moved to Giddings, Texas and she was confirmed on April 21, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran in Giddings.
Married Willie (Bill) Teinert September 10, 1944, after 60 years of marriage her dear life mate went to heaven. Lived in Port Arthur for two years where they were members of St. Paul Lutheran. Moved to Houston in 1946 where they became members of Trinity then Ascension until 1971, then Mt. Olive and then joined Epiphany in 1994.
Alice is survived by her children – Lynna Lehmann (Werner), Rosanna Hodgkiss and Shirley Faber. She has 8 grandchildren, Kenan Lehmann, Amber Kreitz, Holly Gwin, Misty Oltremari, Sheldon Hodgkiss, Jennifer Faber, Ashley Faber and Edward Faber. And was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed her many activities such as starting her own quilt group, gardening, fishing, deer hunting, sight-seeing trips, catering weddings including decorating wedding cakes, bowling, being a school guard and many, many more.
She has written: “The years have gone and I am old. The very best to dwell on is to thank my God that all my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have been brought to God.”
A visitation for Alice will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Jon Salminen officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:15 pm at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
