View Tribute Book Arthur Earl Bockel Jr passed away at home in the comforting presence of his family on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at the age of 95. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bockel Sr and Ethel (Hablizel) Bockel; wives, Billie Bockel, and Eron Bockel; brother, Dick Bockel; sons, Ronnie Debello, John Bockel, and David Bockel; daughter, Cindy Bockel; daughter in law, Lynn Bockel; son in law, David Trusty; and grandson, JD Bockel. Left to cherish Arthur’s memory are his sons, William Bockel, Bob Bockel, and Marvin Sasser; daughters, Belinda Bockel-Trusty, and Sharon Shotwell; grandchildren, William, Jason, Steven, Darren, Nysi, Nikki, Joseph, and Tracie; great grandchildren, Dawson, Lauren, Trevor, Tyler, Tabitha, Josh, Frankie, Cameron, Joseph Jr, Trey, and Jacob; great-great grandchildren, Mason, Maddox, Mckensie, Tate, Waylon, Banks, and Levi; along with a host of many other family and friends.Arthur was born on May 27th, 1929, in the Houston, Texas area town of Almeda. Growing up, Arthur lived on a dairy farm, and attended Almeda elementary school and San Jacinto High School, along with his brother Dick. Following high school, Arthur joined the Navy where he honorably served for four years. When he returned home, Arthur married Billie Lee Atkinson, and together they raised a family. Arthur worked as a machinist at Emsco for 13 years before opening his own machine shop. He then joined the Harris County sheriff's department as a deputy sheriff and retired as a homicide detective. Together with his partner Ronnie Phillips, they solved many cases. After retirement, Arthur enjoyed visits from all his grandchildren.Funeral services for Arthur will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Monday, December 2nd, 2024. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service commencing at 1:00 pm.
