Audean was a remarkable woman from every perspective. The consummate professional, she was generous with her time, objective with her advice, and open to good ideas. We worked on a couple of projects together at TSU and I learned so much from her. Through those experiences we became friends. I still cherish a scarf she brought back to me from Eastern Europe.
My most sincere and profound condolences to the entire family. Michele Sabino
To Ann,Dennis, Patsy and Family; I was so saddened to hear of the homegoing of Dr.Audean Allman. I had the wonderful opportunity to have this vivacious and most professional educator to come into my life while a masters student in Administration at TSU. I considered myself most lucky to have her as my advisor/mentor. She always had an open door policy, always made herself available, and most of all made one feel at ease with her smile and compassion. I was so impressed until I adopted her mentoring style as I moved into central office administration in HISD.She will be missed but never forgotten. Your Audean was a blessing to her family and her extended family of educators.
The faculty and staff in the College of Education at Texas Southern University are saddened to hear of your loss. Dr. Allman was a major part of the College for many years as a faculty member and later serving as Dean of the College. She was an awesome educator and was well respected by students and faculty. May God comfort you during this period

It is with great sadness that I read this weekend that Dr. Allman has passed away. I met her in the middle to late 1970’s when she did some consulting for my husband who was a vendor in the education field. She had such a level and logical mind as well as being very compassionate. During this time my parents divorced after 33 years of marriage. I felt very sad and at the same time very selfish. I talked with Audean about this and told her my concern about who do I invite for Christmas? She wisely told me BOTH, it was not up to me to make this choice, it was up to them. I wound up having a great relationship with them both. She will be missed, but she will still be here for a long time because of the memories.
I, too, was one of the many, many students of Dr. Allman at TSU in the 80s and 90s. I recall fondly a Supervision course she taught and the activities she put us through. She was a terrific counselor to those of us from HISD who came to her for coursework and to meet certification requirements. She was a dear and kind lady. I will miss her terribly.
Dr. Allman was one of the best instructors in the College of Education at Texas Southern University. I had the honor of being one of her students and receiving her guidance, knowledge, and wisdom while pursuing a master’s in Educational Administration (’97). I remember the accelerated classes and her strict adherence to not missing classes. The one thing that I will always remember about Dr. Allman is her welcoming smile and her hearty laugh that just put you at ease. I pray that her family is strengthened and comforted by their faith during this time. Rest in Peace, Dr. Allman. You will always be in the hearts of the many students you taught and remembered fondly with love.
I had the great pleasure of working with and knowing Dr. Allman when I worked on my Master’s at TSU in 1978-1980. She was a student’s best support and a wonderfully understanding friend. There was almost nothing Dr. Allman would not do to assist a student. Oh, she was a superb educator; one to admire and to model after in one’s career. I am sorry to hear of her passing. We all know that she has been made new in the Lord for she has seen His glory. May she rest in His peace and gain the joys of Heaven.
I enrolled in the Master’s of Education, Administrator program in 1998 and Dr. Allman was the dean over that program. She was my first contact with the university and immediately made me feel welcome and was a constant source of encouragement throughout my time there. She was a lovely lady, full of Southern charm and warmth. I am grateful for her influence in my decision to become a school administrator. My condolences to each of her family members as I know she will be missed dearly.
A bright light to this world has gone out with Audean. My life was enriched by knowing and working with Audean, a friend, a professional and a totally caring person to all who came into contact with her. My deepest sympathy to all her family. Deanie
