Barbara Stevens Parker's Obituary
Barbara Stevens Parker, 84, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry D. and Clementine Stevens, her loving husband of 53 years, William Parker; and brother, Clayton Stevens. Barbara is survived by her son, Steven T. Parker; daughter, Karen Swaby and husband, Darryl; brother, Ronald Stevens and wife, Gay; grandchildren, Alicia Lewellen and husband, Stephen, Bruce Swaby and wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Aston and Marley Swaby; and a host of other family and friends.
Barbara was a professional secretary for more than 30 years. She loved being a mother and housewife to her family. Barbara studied piano and was an accomplished pianist; playing for her church from the time she was a young girl all the way until adulthood. She felt strongly about giving back to the community an often volunteered at the nursing homes. Barbara was an avid bridge player and enjoyed crocheting. She and William enjoyed traveling with their friends and especially their cruise to the Bahamas. Barbara will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Barbara will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00 am at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
