Carrie Mae Cogbill's Obituary
Carrie Mae Cogbill, 91, passed away January 26, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wylie and Lucy Burns; brother, Lawrence Burns; sister, Charlie Bucher; and grandson, Jon Cogbill. Carrie Mae is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Basil Cogbill; son, Steve Cogbill and his wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Stephanie Wadowsky and her husband, Jim and Sherri Snedecor; great grandchildren, River Cogbill and Blake Austin; as well as a host of many other family and friends.
Carrie Mae and Basil were high school sweethearts. She was a wonderful cook and always made sure to cook three meals a day. Carrie Mae loved to sew and worked at a Dry Goods Store growing up and later at a dress shop in Pearland. She and Basil enjoyed many years of retirement in Fredericksburg with family. They cherished several of the trips that they had the opportunity to take with their grandchildren. Carrie Mae was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation for Carrie Mae will take place at Clayton Funeral Home on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 12:00 until 1:30 pm. Funeral Services will follow beginning at 1:30 with Pastor John Mark Benson of Sagemont Church officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
