Charles Bertrand "Charlie" Buren's Obituary
Charles “Charlie” Bertrand Buren, 64, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Paul” and Mary Agnes Buren. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Joseph “Joe” Paul Buren; his sister, Agnes “Marie” Asscherick; nieces, Amanda Theresa Buren Lopez and Andrea “Andie” Costa; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Charlie was a man of many talents. He enjoyed studying Genealogy, gardening, Tai-chi and reading. He was an active member of Petal Pushers Garden Club in Deer Park, a volunteer at Armand Bayou Nature Center and an accomplished Master Gardener. Charlie was strong in his faith and belonged to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, was a past member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church and a loyal supporter of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His acts of volunteerism and compassion for others extended far and wide. Charlie was constantly helping others around him in need. He loved his family dearly and was the resident Buren babysitter; watching over, teaching and having epic leaf pile fights with his nieces Andrea and Theresa. Charlie will forever be remembered for his witty and dry sense of humor, his love for others and for his belief that flowers for the living were better than flowers for the dead. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Cancer society at www.cancer.org.
