View Tribute Book Claude Jackson Bird passed away on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 91. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Harvey Bird and Emma (Simpkins) Bird, and sister, Eloise Helbert. Left to cherish Claude’s memory are his wife, Margaret (Farmer) Bird; sons, David Bird and wife Sherry, and Jack Bird; daughter, Debbie Unterkircher and husband Jim; grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Jayson, Jackie, Colin, Matthew, Michael, Katrina, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Ethan, Roman, Jace, Jacob, Shannon, Alex, Max, and Zack; along with a host of many other family and friends.Claude was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed a successful career as a Production Controller with NASA for 34 years, and another 10 years with Lockheed Martin. Prior to his career, he served his country in the United States army, where he was a member of the 2nd Army Rifle Team. Claude enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved trying to catch the next big fish, trail rides, traveling in his motorhome, and reloading ammo for his gun collection. Claude will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Funeral services for Claude will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. His family will receive guests during a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025. The Funeral service will commence the following day, Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Alvin Confederate Cemetery.
