Clifford Ray Layton's Obituary
Clifford Ray Layton, 89, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Alma Layton; son, Charles Layton; brothers, Lamar Layton, Guy V. Layton; sisters, Dorothy Hardy, Laverne Sanders, Alma Mae Stewart, and Laura Blankenship. Left to cherish Clifford’s memory are his loving wife, of 67 years, Nina Layton; son, Ronald Layton and wife, Lori; brother, Johnny Layton and wife, Doris; sisters, Nina Faye Huggins and husband, Don, Nelda Dyes and husband, Carl; sister-in-law, Virginia Layton; grandchildren, Bryan Layton and wife, Rowena, Kevin Layton and fiancé, Alicia, Charles Jr. Layton, Austin Layton, Kenny Wright, Amanda Richard, Chantelle, Sherri, Dana; great grandchildren, Bryan Leon Layton, Bea Layton, Leilani Angelina, Teddy Showalter, June Showalter, Evelyn Showalter, and Adelaide Showalter; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be remembered as a man of integrity and kindness. He was a man of great faith who genuinely loved the Lord. Clifford served as an Elder at the Church of Christ for many years. He was always doing things for others, especially those in need. Clifford proudly served his country in the United States Army, and later had a successful career as a self-employed barber. In his spare time, Clifford loved to read and go fishing at his favorite spots. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for Clifford will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Tx 77581. Visitation will take place on Thursday April 1st from 11 am to 12 pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 12 pm. A Graveside service will be held at Upper Chireno Cemetery, Chireno Tx on Friday April 2nd, at 11 am.
