View Tribute Book Colleen Harriman Davis passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband, Chuck Davis, and her dog, Gus.Colleen was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Fortney Harriman; father, Glenn Harriman; and baby sister, Kathryn Harriman. She leaves behind a legacy of love and light, cherished deeply by her husband; daughter, Jennifer Carpenter; son, Matthew Carpenter and his wife Amy; grandchildren, Jude Symmank, Preston Carpenter, Hazel Symmank, Owen Carpenter, and Jack Symmank; sister, Mary Kett and her husband Ed; nieces, Callie and Madison Navarre; nephew, Braden Navarre; many cousins, and a wide circle of dear friends.A proud Air Force brat, Colleen lived a life filled with curiosity, connection, and boundless enthusiasm. She embraced the joys of travel, culture, and friendship wherever life took her. A piece of her heart always remained in Vicenza, Italy, where she spent part of her childhood and returned to many times over the years.With over 25 years dedicated to education, Colleen had a special passion for working with the visually impaired. Her compassion, dedication, and tireless advocacy touched the lives of countless students and families. She believed in the words, “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” and inspired others to do the same.Known for her sharp wit, infectious laughter, and boundless capacity to love, Colleen had a remarkable way of making friends wherever she went. Her presence lit up every room, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.Colleen’s next great adventure begins now, and while we mourn her loss, we celebrate the incredible life she lived. Arrivederci, Colleen — our lives are richer because of you, and our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.A funeral service will be held on August 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Clayton Funeral Home in La Porte, Texas, followed by a reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall. A private burial will take place at Old Home Cemetery in Tenaha, Texas.
