David Houston Ellison's Obituary
David Houston Ellison, 44, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father, David Ragsdale Ellison. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Melanie Moore Ellison; his loving wife, Jennifer Ellison; sons, Carter Ellison and Garrett Ellison; brother, James Ellison and wife, Claire; sisters, Lisa Kenny, Catherine Landua and husband, Paul; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lynn and Charlette Brown; brother-in-law, Ricky Brown and wife, Mandi Randomski; Jennifer’s grandmother, Meemaw and a host of other family and dear friends.
David was truly a one-of-a-kind family man. His boys were his world as David did daycare drop-offs, bottles, diapers, baths, bike rides, walks, and wrestling. You name it, David did it and all with a heart of pure pride and joy. David cherished his family and was an amazing son, nephew, brother, cousin, uncle, son-in-law and brother-in-law. He graduated from Katy Taylor High School and attended University of Texas and University of Houston. David was known for his contagious personality and his amazing ability to tell stories. He loved having a good laugh and making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. David was a wonderful cook and took great pride in entertaining his family and friends with his many dishes. It was always a treat to see what he had planned for family meals and events. David loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and angler. He doted on teaching his boys how to hunt during family trips to "The Ranch" in Nixon. He had a passion for fishing and hunting and jumped at opportunities to be on the water with his friends. David was a devoted husband that was always there to listen, give advice, lend a hand, laugh and he made each day the best day. He will forever be remembered and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s honor to Carter and Garrett's Education Funds. Funds are set up through LPL Financial and can be distributed with a check made payable to Jennifer Ellison.
A Memorial Service for David will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Vern Thomson officiating.
