Dennis Roy Elliott's Obituary
Dennis Roy Elliott, 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 31, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Mavis Elliott; and brothers, Michael Ray and Ronnie Elliott. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mechele Elliott; son, John Maxwell Elliott; daughters, Mandee Lynette Elliott, Cynthia (Cindee) Ann Elliott and her husband, Billy Guajardo; Siblings, Darrell Elliott, Twyla Kemp, Kelly Elliott, Patty Glass, grandsons, Dwayne, Nathaniel and Mark; great granddaughter, Aylana; and a host of other family and friends.
Some people called him BEAR and even though he could be grizzly at times, he was always a teddy bear to his family and friends; especially to his children, grandsons and great granddaughter. His primary profession was welding, but his true destiny should have been a comedian as he always made light of every situation no matter what and always tried to make people laugh. Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, bowling, boxing, billiards, darts, and playing cards. During Hold’em poker games he couldn’t tell the blue and black chips apart, but always managed a good bluff. When he went fishing with his reel of choice, Shimano, Shimano or Shimano, the fish just seem to jump right on the line no matter what type of bait he had on it. 2015 had been a long hard struggle for Dennis but now he is in heaven with his parents and brothers. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. May he always be able to put a smile on someone's face and cast a line where the fish remain bountiful.
The services for Dennis will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. Visitation will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
