View Tribute Book Derek Ryan Boyd passed away peacefully at home in Pearland, Texas, on Monday, September 8th, 2025, at the age of 50. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Cheryl Boyd. Derek is survived by his wife, Carrie Boyd; daughters, Bailey and Hannah Boyd; brother, Trent Boyd; and a host of many other family and friends.Derek was an outgoing and friendly individual who never met a stranger. He was extremely proud to be a “girl dad” and enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge about almost any subject with his daughters. Derek had a servant’s heart, and he enjoyed volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, coaching for the Greater Pearland Archery Club, serving coffee at church every month, and was a member of the Pearland Masonic Lodge and Pearland Lions’ Club. He also had a wealth of hobbies, including shooting guns, drinking coffee, airplanes, reading, history, archery, cooking, and supporting the Aggies. Derek worked at Memorial Hermann for 21 years. Derek had many adventures and camping trips with his paramedic brothers who knew him as “Demo”. Recently, in May of 2025, Derek earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.A memorial service will be held to celebrate Derek’s life on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland, beginning at 10:00 am.
