Desmond Leeray Hooks passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 19. He is survived by his parents, Anthony and Samantha Hooks; his step-parents, Rachel Anderson and Karl Turpin; his grandparents, Mona and Ray Hooks, Leslie Warren, Ben & Candy Warren, and Sharon Anderson; his aunt, Christy Hooks; his aunt, Barbara Trujillio, and her husband, Ivan; his uncle, Ben Warren V; his uncle Logan Woods and his wife Peggy; his cousins, Ashley and Katy Garza, Alex Volino and his wife, Selena, Anderson Say, Lavaughn & Maxwell Morrris, Logan Woods Jr, and Bella Woods; his great-grandparents, Linda Menchaca, Jan Clark, and Ken Peters; as well as many other family members and friends.
Desmond was a bright and thoughtful young man with a natural gift for understanding how things worked. He loved immersing himself in video games, especially battle royale games, and took pride in building his own PCs, learning every component along the way. Away from the screen, Desmond enjoyed cars and working on engines; his strong mechanical aptitude was evident in the confidence and care he brought to hands-on project, such as assembling his Honda Prelude from the ground up.
Though he was introverted, he was deeply loving with his family, fiercely independent, and self-reliant. He had a soft spot for animals and found comfort in their companionship. At home, Desmond valued doing things for himself, including cooking his own meals, especially steaks. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
