Donald Herbert "Don" Shelton's Obituary
Donald Herbert Shelton, 58, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Shelton. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ryan Shelton; daughter, Christine Shelton and Rick Hernandez, brothers, Bill, Danny, Larry and Joe Shelton; sisters, Rose Toman and Liz Kraemer; grandson, Conner Shelton; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Don was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a brilliant man that excelled in his profession as an engineer. Don was known as a man who spoke with actions and not mere words. He committed himself whole heartedly to every project he was involved in. Don was an avid sports enthusiast that loved cheering on his favorite Houston Astros. He enjoyed supporting the local Little League Baseball and was a dedicated coach for many years. Don loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Services for Don will be held Monday November 2, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home Chapel, 210 S. 3rd Street, LaPorte, TX 77571. The visitation will take place from 1:00 until 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
