Don was a very special person who will be greatly missed by his many friends and LPHS alumni.
Please know that my father loved Don so much, he came to vist us just after my mom was diagnosed with cancer at the beach house that we rented in Matagorda. That was the 1st time, I myself got to meet him...I feel in love with him and as well my husband and we spent alot of time together fishing that nite. It was a great pleasure to meet someone whom my father so greatly admired.. He was their for my MOM and also when my dad passed what a great friend..Dad told me alot of the stories of him and the "gang" I wish I would have wrote them down..because those words are priceless. I just wanted you and your family to know that he was something special and his heart would lite up a room...He was a very special person and just know our prayers and thoughts are with you every day... I promise.. Love, Darrell and Deborah Riggs Schoppe
