Donald Eugene LeBlanc's Obituary
Donald Eugene LeBlanc, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Reynauld and Florence LeBlanc; and brother, Wayne LeBlanc. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marianne LeBlanc; sons, Mike LeBlanc, Steve LeBlanc and wife, Kathy, Chris LeBlanc; grandchildren, Danielle, Matt, Ryan, Katie and Alex LeBlanc; great grandchildren, Kaylin Moore and Chloe LeBlanc; and a host of other family and friends.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a radio announcer for KTRH and KODA radio stations for many years and was the local sales manager for Channel 39 for fifteen years. Don could also be heard at Astroworld on their live radio show. He was a devout alumnus of the University of Houston and was proud of his Cougars long before it was fashionable. Don enjoyed square dancing and being involved in numerous organizations and activities at Country Place. He lead the Men’s Club Discussion group, was a member of The Players, Ragtimers and Singers at Country Place and served on the Board after Hurricane Ike and during the restoration of the Carriage House. He was a man of strong faith that served as the first lector/commentator at St. Benedict Church. Don was a fantastic husband, father and grandfather that cherished spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice. Services for Donald will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578. The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 until 10:00 am with a Rosary recited at 9:30 am. The Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 am with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Inurnment with military honors will take place at Houston National Cemetery later in the afternoon at 1:15 pm.
