We were friends for 20 years, when she came to Bayshore Baptist church. We shared our love for sewing and embroidery for many years. We spent many hours playing Joker for many years. The last few years we were Joker partners. I will miss her terribly. She was a very special lady with a really big heart.
I have known Doris most of our eighty four years on this earth. We became good friends in junior high and were better friends in high school. Our lives took different paths and we didn't get together like we both wished we had. We did talk on the phone and she was so proud of her family. She loved her church family. and I know she is free of pain. i am praying for peace and comfort for the family.
When I joined Sewing Seeds of Kindness at our church, I had the pleasure of meeting Doris. I had never met her before, even though she was a member of Monument Baptist where my husband and I are also members! It’s a big church and I still meet people there occasionally after twelve years of membership! At SSOK Doris taught me things that I had never learned before! She was an amazing seamstress. She was also a precious sister in Christ whom I will always remember with love.
