Douglas Gerard "Doug" Vasko's Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Gerard Vasko, 60, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 20, 2016 in Perry, Oklahoma.. Doug was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio on March 01, 1956 and graduated from Austintown Fitch High school. Doug and his family moved to Houston Texas June 12, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Rosemary Vasko. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Ellen Vasko; sons, James Herrera and Kevin Vasko; daughters, Amelyn Lachica and husband Eric, Tiffany Polish and husband Brandon, Desiree Sauceman and husband Jacob, Kaitlyn Alexis Vasko; brother, Edward Vasko; sisters, Kathy Collins, Linda Bali and husband John, Lori Kolat and husband Joe; nine grandchildren; (Amelyn and Eric Lachica) Dakota Miglets, Dominic Miglets, Shaelyn Lachica, (Tiffany and Brandon Polish) Logan Polish and Colton Polish, (Desiree and Jacob Sauceman) Angelo Sauceman and Adrianna Sauceman, (James Herrera) Angelina Herrera and Kyleigh Herrera and a host of other family and friends.
Doug was a carpenter by trade and was loved and respected by everyone he worked with and everyone that was blessed enough to know him. He dedicated his life to his family and was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A Visitation and Rosary for Doug will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 4:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578 with Father Tom Ponzini officiating.
