View Tribute Book Edward Ray Chapman, 90, passed on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his children. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Florance Marie, and parents Cliff and Vinia Chapman; siblings, Zula Mae Hanagriff and Charles Chapman; daughter in law, Therese “Tracy” Chapman. Left to cherish his memory are children, Mark, Phillip (Susan), Dwayne, Charlotte, Sharon (Ralph), Mary (Michael); eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of many other family and dear friends.Ed was born in Westwood, Louisiana, and graduated from Landry Memorial High School. He also attended Sowela Trade School where he studied architecture and drafting. He married the love of his life, Florance Landry, in 1956 and they were blessed to share 63 years together.Ed was strong in his faith and was a charter member of the St. Helen Catholic Church since 1967. He was a musician, draftsman, and artist, who had an eye for anything creative. He was a true visionary. His greatest memory was going to Branson, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee where he played “Rocky Top” on the Grand Ole Opry stage, fulfilling his musical dreams.Ed’s family will be receiving guests from 5:30 to 8:00 pm during a Visitation hosted at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Monday, November 11th, 2024. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at St. Helen Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
