View Tribute Book Edwin Francis Doucette, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Florence Doucette, two brothers and three sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Doucette; sons, Paul Doucette and wife, Nancy, David Doucette and wife, Konya, John Doucette; sisters, Florence Joy, Mary Davin, Ruth Magner, Carol McDonald; grandchildren, Sarah, Jeffrey and Michelle Doucette; and a host of other family and dear friends. Edwin started in the travel business in 1948, where he worked up until he started his own travel agency in 1986. He and Nancy traveled all over the world, visiting over 100 different countries, but calling San Antonio, Texas “home” for over 46 years. There, they were loyal parishioners of St. Matthews Catholic Church and Edwin an active member of the Rotary Club. He was strong in his faith and built his life around his family. An avid crossword puzzle solver, bowler, gardener, and trivia buff, Edwin had many interests. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his loved ones, even moving to McKinney to be closer to them. Edwin was a compassionate man who always put others before himself. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation and Rosary for Edwin will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at Clayton Funeral Home of La Porte, at 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. The visitation will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 816 Park Drive, La Porte, Texas 77571. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.claytonfuneralhomes.com.
