Elizabeth Virginia "Betty" Allen's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Virginia Allen, 81, passed away on July 7, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Hazel Taylor; daughter, Audrey “Ellen” Elliott; three brothers and four sisters. Betty is survived by her son, Kenneth Allen, brother, Larry Allen; sisters, Janell Mitchell and Dean Griffin; grandchildren, Michelle Elliott, Kristi Villasana, Tiffany Sumlin, Travis Allen; and a host of other family and friends.
A big part of Betty’s life was doing for others and spending time with her family and friends. She loved for people to come over to her home and enjoy her cooking. Betty was especially well known for her delicious fudge. She was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. Betty was affectionately known as “Grandma” or “Grammy” to her grandchildren and cherished the opportunity to take them on trips with her. She was blessed with good health most of her life and that might have been because of her early to bed and early to rise philosophy. Betty had a kind and tender heart to everyone but at the same time with her red hair, she could show her fiery temper. She was truly the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with interment to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
