Elizabeth “Liz” Perez, 31, passed away October 2, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Salvador Perez. Liz is survived by her mother, Julia Perez; fiancé, Raymond Yang; brother, Noe Perez and wife, Jennifer; sister, Melissa Perez; nephews Ricardo and Sam Perez; her beloved dog, Murphy Brown; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Liz was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and fiancé. She was known as a happy, creative, and confident person, producing paintings at a young age that still hang in her family’s home. She attended the University of Michigan on a full scholarship and earned a BSE in Mechanical Engineering. Liz cultivated many friendships and anyone she met was instantly drawn to her welcoming and artsy personality. She also had a keen sense of style that flourished as she matured. Liz began her career at Bechtel as a Project Engineer before briefly working at NASA. She later became a Project Manager at Air Liquide where she had a promising and thriving career ahead of her. Liz became an avid runner and enjoyed running long distances; joining friends in half and full marathons. Her signature runs were the Houston Chevron Marathon and the Texas Independence Relay. Family events were a big part of Liz’s life and she rarely missed the yearly Easter Egg Hunts, birthday celebrations, all-day Thanksgiving dinners at her mother’s house, and gift-giving at Christmas. Liz and Ray enjoyed traveling and trying new things. Ray always followed her on her next adventure. Their most recent trip was to Taiwan. Liz continues to inspire all who love her and were honored to know her.
