She is preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Alzina Hebert; sons, Allen and Alvin Darby; brothers, Leo, Harold, Edward, Paul, and Jim Hebert; sister, Marilyn Darby; and grandson, Andrew Hebert. Left to cherish Emily’s memory are her husband of 71 years, Curtis Darby; son, Craig Darby and wife Lisa; daughter, Jill Darby Hebert and husband Eddie; sister, Gladys Hogue; grandchildren, Jessica Darby and partner Miranda, Allyson Blankenburg and husband Ryan, and Gabrielle Gardner and husband Holden; great grandchildren, Hadlee, Harper, Hunter, and Bohdi Blankenburg; along with a host of other dear family and friends.Emily was known by loved ones for her delicious Cajun cooking, her meticulous cleaning, and her devotion to taking care of the love of her life, Curtis. But most of all she had an unending love for Jesus Christ, her Savior.Emily was the owner and operator of Sophisti-Curl in Sulphur, Louisiana, for 19 years. During that time, she built lifelong relationships that will never be forgotten. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Whether she knew you forty seconds or forty years, she would say “I love you bee”, and she truly meant it.We are left to cherish every memory we have of our Cajun Queen, knowing she is healed in Heaven. As she said before she left her earthly home, “Don’t cry. Don’t be too sad. I’ll see you on the other side!”Funeral Services for Emily will be held at Parkway Church in Pearland, Texas, on Saturday, September 30th, 2023. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, with the service commencing at 2:00 pm.
