Gene is one of the finest people I’ve ever known. Always upbeat, caring and smart with a big beautiful laugh. He always knew what the important things were in life. He truly loved his wonderful wife Phyllis who we also got the pleasure to know and he loved his children. Once I met with Gene and Phyllis in Indianapolis. We had a nice dinner together (Mountain Jacks) and I got to meet maybe his sister there at her home. Super nice people. I feel sad that we didn’t stay in touch...My fault. If there’s a heaven, Gene is there.
