Wow, what a double shock! I just stumbled upon this Obit.

I knew Eva “Higgins” back in 1985 or so, as a single mother supporting herself as a manager at Joske’s in Pasadena Texas. I was just out of law school and living with my parents on Fenwood Drive, we dated briefly. I recall even then her focus was always faith and family. I vividly recall seeing her walking though the Pasadena Joske’s with an energy and enthusiasm that was wonderful to watch. Her employees loved her and loved being around her. She was an incredible lady and it is sad to learn she is gone. Doubly so as I also learned Josh preceded her.

I am Eva’s cousin, through the Thost side of the family. I just found out about her death today, as well as that of Dutch, after a Christmas card sent to Wanda by my sister.

May the Lord richly bless all of you with his peace, and the knowledge that we will all be together again soon and very soon.

Although I did not see Eva much in the years past, she was embedded in my heart. I will never forget when I was a 12 year old little girl, on the way to my mom’s funeral, it was Eva that held me and comforted me. Growing up, I admired her so. It was her sweetness and her gentleness, I always felt so at peace and loved while in her presence. She is with her Dad, Joshua (my precious nephew) and her Lord Jesus Christ now.

Mrs. Thost, Bill and family: I know the sadness I feel, I can’t imagine yours. I am truly so sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers.

Dear Bill and Family,

Our hearts go out to you and the family. Eva was a wonderful person and mother. Although I only was able to spend a short time with her when i was younger with joshua, my heart still breaks to hear about this. She will be missed very much. But we know we will see her agian someday. She is finaly with josh(my brother)again and happy no longer hurting and in pain. You and the family are in our prayers.

Bill & Mrs. Thost,

I only wish I was half the friend to Eva that she was to me and my family. I feel that I let her down, and there aren’t words at this point to let you know how horrible we feel. I do know that Eva loved you both so much. I also know that being with Joshua and Dutch is heaven to her and that they welcomed her with open arms and she is in the presence of the Lord now. The world that we know will be a harsher place without her in it, but heaven is even more in glory with her. I hope that I can forgive myself and I will continue to think of our times together with love and laughter. Please know that Dad, David, and I are praying for you both and your extended family.

Dear Mrs.Thost,Bill,& Family,

I am so sad,in shock over Eva’s death,but thankful that she is with her father and son living joyfully with Jesus Christ, her joy is made complete. She was my best friend in high school, and we were going to visit her in just a few days.
God had different timing, as I know I will see her in Heaven.I pray for peace and comfort in your family.
