He lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a loving family and a legacy of service and commitment.He is preceded in death by his parents Loyal and Dorothy Baker; former wife, Carolyn Baker; and daughter Susan Jeanne Baker.Forbes' surviving family members include his wife, Diane E. Baker, and his daughters Lisa Frances Newberry and husband Carlton, Linda Florence Whitson, and Margaret Elizabeth Baker. He is also survived by his brother Vance Baker and wife, Gloria. He leaves behind eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other dear family members and friends.Forbes was described as a man with a strong faith and a servant's heart. He was dedicated to his family and his mission-driven work, which included serving as a Stephen Minister, participating in the Seafarers organization, and being involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry. He was also an elder in his church and had a successful career as a CPA. Despite battling cancer four times, Forbes remained a fighter and an inspiration to many. He enjoyed singing in choirs and loved traveling the world.A visitation for Forbes will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church in Sugarland, Texas at 11:30 am with a reception to follow at the church.The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Presbyterian Church Sugarland in his memory.May Forbes Baker rest in peace, and may his loved ones find comfort and strength during this difficult time.
