Gary Lee Chase's Obituary
Gary Lee Chase, 75, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Houston, Texas surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, service, perseverance, and devotion to those he loved most.
Gary was a two-time cancer survivor showing remarkable strength, courage, and determination throughout his journey. He was married to the love of his life, Kathy Chase, for five decades, and their life together was filled with love, commitment, cherished memories, and plenty of laughter.
Gary proudly served his country as a member of the Air National Guard. He dedicated 31 years of his career to Southwestern Bell, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Following his retirement, he continued serving his community by working for Pearland Independent School District for 17 years.
Gary found great joy in the outdoors and loved being on the water. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing golf, always appreciating the time spent with friends and family. He was also an avid collector of firearms, sports memorabilia, and antique fishing lures, passions that reflected his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the activities he enjoyed most.
Gary was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make people smile. He was always ready with a joke, a funny story, or a playful comment that could brighten any room. His laughter and lighthearted spirit brought joy to those around him and became one of the many things his family and friends will remember and cherish.
Above all else, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He treasured time with his family, creating lasting memories through laughter, stories, jokes, and unwavering support. His kindness, quiet strength, generous heart, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Florine Richardson and stepdad William Richardson Sr. and biological father Charlie Chase. Left to cherish Gary’s memory is his wife of 56 years, Kathy Chase; his two children, Kimberly Reyes and her husband, Miguel Reyes, and Monica Chase; his three grandchildren, Nicolas Reyes, Geegee Reyes, and Julia Reyes; and his two siblings, William Richardson and Linda Peak.
Gary’s life was one of service, dedication, love, resilience, and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas, on July 20, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
