Gayland was my first school girl crush. He and I attended school from Elementary until we Graduated Aldine High School. I remember him as being a handsome, quiet, shy guy. Like most others, thanks to technology we reunited thru Facebook, exchanged numbers and chatted from time to time. I remember admitting to him I had a crush on him for years...we both had a big laugh. Being on Ca.time, I have to admit I loved waking up to see what he had posted or what message he sent me. His post always left You with a Smile, whether it was simple, military affiliated, political or him sharing his Faith in God. It was easy to share with him how You felt, he listened. Once, he posted a picture of an RV for purchase. Jokingly, I told him lets just get it, travel and sightsee. He had just posted he was sick about that same time, but had not lost his sense of humor. GAYLAND, was truly a friend to everyone. We will miss him tremendously. I personally will miss his banter back and forth. I will admit I cried last night for the loss of my friend. However, I know he was ready when God knocked on that hospital door, reached out and invited him into heaven. I am thankful that he cared enough to share his Faith with everyone. He made sure we were aware he was a Christian. He was a fighter till the end and I know he will be missed by Us all. Even when his phone was taken he managed to get another one, reset a Facebook page and continued to share his life with us. He left Us a Legacy of Friendship by including Us in the last days of His Life. My prayers are with his family during these days. A Special thanks to Shelly for posting the updates...
