Gerald "Jerry" Joseph McKeon's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Joseph McKeon passed away in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at the age of 68. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Joseph McKeon and Lorraine (Hochstrasser) McKeon; brother, Jim McKeon; and grandchild, Helen Rose Dawidczik. Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife, Denise (Camerlengo) McKeon; son, Quentin McKeon and wife Kendyl; daughters, Adria Dawidczik and husband Michael, Valerie Syski and husband Stefan, Jenna Cole and husband John; brother, Chuck McKeon; sisters, Teresa Roseland, Karen Vincent, Susan McKeon, and Trish McKeon; grandchildren, Wesley, Christian, Ivan, Leo, Alexa, Henry, Benjamin, Joseph, James, Philip, John Francis, Raphael, Edith-Anne, Miriam, Ruth, Abigail, Sadie, Jax, Ambrose, Philomena, Felicity, Charlotte, and one more on the way; along with a host of many other family and friends.
Jerry will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and loyal friend whose life was defined by deep faith, wholehearted love, and a sense of humor that carried everyone around him. God was the center of Jerry’s life, and he lived his Catholic faith with sincerity and conviction. Nothing brought him more joy than time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. Jerry had a gift for making each person feel like the most important one in the room, and he was an example of unconditional love in the way he showed up, listened, and cared.
Jerry’s love for his wife, Denise, was unmistakable; steadfast, affectionate, and deeply passionate. He especially loved dancing with her, and the two shared a joy that was easy to see and impossible to forget. A diehard Houston Astros fan, Jerry loved baseball in every form, avidly watching it, talking about it, and sharing it with the people he loved most. He enjoyed driving across the country to visit baseball stadiums and to spend time with his grandchildren. He defended the gift of life from conception and regularly participated in pro-life events. He enjoyed the outdoors and simple pleasures: fishing, bird hunting, yard work, tent camping, and staying active. His love of literature ran from non-fiction to mystery novels, frequently reading three books at a time. At home or on the road, classic rock was often the soundtrack, and Jerry’s jokes and easy laugh made time together feel lighter.
Jerry was known for being methodical and steady, with a warm presence and a quick wit. He handled stress with humor, helped others through hard moments with laughter, and kept everyone smiling, right up to the end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry’s family will receive guests during a visitation at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland, on Monday, April 13th, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. His funeral Mass will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas, at 10:30 am. Interment at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas, will take place on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
