Carlos Smith was a lovely man and friend to all. May God bless the Smith family with peace and wonderful memories of their dad. He made La Porte shine.

To the Smith family, Having worked for the City of La Porte as Fire Marshal, I had the opportunity to work on many projects. I always found him to be honest, fair, caring and understanding. Please accept my thoughts and prayers during this very sad time in your life. God be with you all.

Oh my I’m lost for words... I met this wonderful man 5 yrs ago and became not only his trusted advisor but a great friend. I loved to see Mr. Smith once a week enter the building proudly wearing his A&M attire and that old stogie in his mouth. He had the greatest smile and conversations. Loved to brag about his wife Mrs. Doris and his grandchildren. I’m glad my path crossed yours and I know you’re resting in peace! Love you Mr. Smith. Mrs. Doris and Janelle my heart is with y’all.
