Hannah Orideth Smith's Obituary
Hannah Orideth Smith, 33, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. Left to cherish her memory are her parents Samuel and Audrey Smith; grandmother Vonnie Roberts, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Hannah was a compassionate person; a person you could always depend on. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior and loved to share her faith with others.
In 2010, Hannah graduated from Houston Baptist University where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. While in school, Hannah discovered a love for writing, editing, and videography while contributing to The Collegian Newspaper. Hannah continued to use her editing and writing skills by working with fellow writers, various publications, volunteer organizations, and the Lakewood church media department.
After graduating from college Hannah began a successful career in Information Technology. She was a valued member of the IT staff at William Rice University and Sam Houston State. Supporting professors and colleagues in teaching higher education was a rewarding career which she thrived in.
Spending time with family and friends was a great source of joy in Hannah’s life. Any time spent with the ones she loved was well spent to her. Art was also important to Hannah. She often painted, edited videos, and practiced photography as forms of Art Therapy. Thanatology, rollerblading, and bike riding were some of her favorite hobbies.
Hannah will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
