Henry A.J. Stevenson's Obituary
Henry A. J. Stevenson, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Georgia Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Angie Stevenson; and five brothers and sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Stevenson; sons, Steven Stevenson, Dewey Russell Stevenson and wife, Susan, Michael Stevenson, Joseph Stevenson and wife, Erica; daughters, Natalie Miranda and husband, Charles, Angela Melcher and husband, Chris, Chasity Edwards; sisters, Dezille Pepper, Ruey Stewart, Cynthia Hammond; eighteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.
Henry was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather that cherished his family. He loved every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Henry had a great sense of humor and he loved to tell jokes. Henry proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps and loved sharing stories of his time in the service. Henry was a man of great faith that loved the Lord. He found peace and comfort in reading his Bible. Henry enjoyed time spent outdoors tending to his garden. He also loved hunting and fishing at his favorite spots. Henry will be forever remembered for his love of the Lord, his family, and his Country. He truly set a wonderful example of how to live one’s life. Henry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Henry will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 am, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will take place at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
