Ib Carl Lauritzen's Obituary
Ib Carl Lauritzen passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Ib was born April 13, 1929 in Esberg, Denmark and moved to Houston, Texas with his wife Grethe in 1958.
Up until his retirement in 1991, Ib worked for Fluor Daniel for 27 years as an engineer. During this time he and Grethe enjoyed living and working in Milan, Italy and several places in China as well as their home in Houston. After retirement, Ib and Grethe enjoyed traveling extensively and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Ib is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Grethe Lauritzen; his sons Kenneth Lauritzen and Eric Lauritzen and wife Paula; and daughter Tina North and husband Jimmy. He is also survived by his 5 granddaughters, Holly, Sara, Hanna, Krista and Emily.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Country Place Carriage House at 3119 Flowerfield Lane Pearland, Texas. A celebration of life will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
