Irene Maxey's Obituary
Irene Maxey, 78, passed away on August 17, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delsa Mullins; husband, John Walter Maxey. Irene is survived by her son, John Maxey; daughters, Margaret Burdick, Sylvia Briggs and husband, Randy; Kathy Baker and husband, J.R., Eunice Sargent; brother, Carlvan Mullins; grandchildren, Sean Kruse, Ashley and Nicholas Sargent, Jeremy Burdick , and wife Trisha, Justin Burdick, Jake Burdick and wife, Brooke; Wesley and Jared Baker, Dillon and Meagan Briggs; great grandchildren, Bret and Kate Burdick; and a host of other family and friends.
Irene was devoted to her family and gladly sacrificed herself for the sake of her children. She cherished every opportunity she had to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren. Irene was especially known for her warm and caring nature and made friends with everyone she met. Irene will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heart to Heart Hospice, Windsong Village and Trinity Oaks Assisted Living facility.
A visitation for Irene will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The graveside service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 am at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.
