Irma Jean Joseph's Obituary
Irma Jean Minix Joseph was born a twin to Mr. & Mrs. Murphy Minix Sr on August 28, 1933 in Crowley, La. She was baptized at an early age and attended Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Crowley, La. Irma was preceded in death by her twin brother, Ernest Minix, Sr.
Irma was united in marriage to Edwin Agustus Joseph and to this union, two daughters were born-Elaine and Helen.
Irma resided in Houston, Texas from 1971 to 1991and returned to her birthplace in 1991 to take care of her aging mother. Irma cherished her grandchildren and loved to bake their favorite treats. She also loved to read and decorate.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Murphy Minix, Sr and Mrs. Julia Landor Minix, brothers- Percy Minix Sr, Ernest Minix Sr, and Murphy Minix Jr and sister, Birtell Broussard.
Irma leaves to cherish her memory, sister Ida Bell Wright and sister- in- law Wille Mae Minix both of Crowley, La, daughters, Elaine Mumphord (Curtis) and Helen Long. Six grandchildren, Nicole McGee, Dewayne Long, Dwan Valentine (Juan), Brian Mumphord, Erin Mumphord & Jaylan Jones. Six Great Grandchildren, Bryce, Alysia, Emmanuel, Aiden, Jacob and Owen and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A visitation and funeral service for Irma will be held Saturday, October 1, 2015 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas
