View Tribute Book James “Jimmy” Anthony Topper passed away in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at the age of 80. Jimmy was born to parents, Joseph and Pauline (Bax) Topper on September 28, 1944, in Sedalia, Missouri. Although he was born in Missouri, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Pearland, Texas. He retired from AT&T after 40 years as a Construction and Engineering Manager.Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ryan D. Topper, and sister, Janet Simmer. Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his loving wife, Diana (Guerra) Topper; sons, Marcus R. Topper and wife Corina, Jason N. Topper and wife Angela; siblings, Joanne Topper, and William J. Topper and wife Mary Lynn; grandchildren, Sam R. Topper and wife Bri, Sierra R. Topper, Sydney R. Topper, Gracie Donato and husband Omar, Cody Topper, Joseph Topper, and Rylan Topper; and a host of many other family and friends.A man of deep faith, Jimmy was a dedicated volunteer who served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to infirm and elderly parishioners. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and found comfort praying the rosary daily in his favorite patio chair. Jimmy loved working in his yard and found joy in simple pleasures like playing word games and walking in nature. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.Although Jimmy was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes. He was a devoted member of St. Helen's Parish in Pearland, Texas, and his kindness and generosity extended far beyond its walls. He was a quiet force for good, supporting more than twenty Catholic charities. Jimmy was a kind and gentle soul whose love for God and his family was the guiding force in his life. He showed his faith through his actions and his deep devotion to his loved ones.Jimmy’s family will receive guests during a visitation in his honor on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Friday, September 19th, 2025, at St. Helen Catholic Church, commencing at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas.In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to St Helen’s Catholic Church in memory of James A Topper.
