James Clark Kidd Sr.'s Obituary
James (Jimmy) Clark Kidd Sr
1935 – 2021
Our beloved brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend James Clark Kidd Sr was received by his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Kidd, their only child, James Clark Kidd Jr; sister, Francis Hightower; nephews Jack Thorpe and Rodney Hightower, and many other family and friends.
Jimmy, a loving family man, a friend to many, will be missed. He let his light shine and he always had an encouraging word to share and a big smile. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Jimmy was born in Tennessee and moved to San Antonio, Texas at the age of 15 where he met his wife, Carolyn. After one blind date they were together forever on earth and now in Heaven. They were married and moved to Houston, Texas in 1958 where he started his roofing company with his twin brother, Harvey Kidd. Jimmy was a successful businessman in both home and commercial roofing and construction. Jimmy was also a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Armed Forces. He was an avid golfer and loved hunting and fishing. Jimmy’s favorite adventure was salmon fishing in Alaska. On one memorable occasion he encountered a bear outside his cabin. He screamed and the bear ran away.
Jimmy leaves behind, his grandson Brandon Kidd and his wife Jennifer, their two sons, Brandon, and Jonathon; sister Joan Bilski; brother Harvey Kidd; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Special Mention: I can't imagine Uncle Jimmy's best friends that are in Heaven that he is reuniting with. Uncle spent his lifetime with the Demeris Brothers and Billie Cooper. I can't help but smile thinking of Uncles big cheesy smile when he saw his buddies.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Villa at Riverstone assisted living in Missouri City TX and A*MED Healthcare. Thank you for the excellent care you gave to our loved one.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jimmy on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas, with D.J. Dickerson officiating.
