Oh my, thinking back on the times with Uncle James brings a great big smile to my heart. If there was a crowd, which was often the case with family visits, you always knew exactly where Uncle James was. Not because you could hear him (in fact he was fairly soft spoken)...but because there was always hardy laughter of everyone in his presence. He was one of the funniest people I have ever known and I always looked forward to a visit with him. Aunt Marylene would play right into his skits and jokes. She herself having a tremendous knack for quick wit. Sometimes you would think you were captive audience in a Burns and Allen show. What a wonderful gift he would share each visit by making us laugh, and in doing so, forget our troubles and lighten our hearts and spirits.
He was so kind. He made little nick-names for everyone and of course they were funny little names so they always made me laugh. And those feet of his….oh my goodness the way he would stand with his feet pointed out was just ….. funny. And he liked it that you thought it was funny……
Yes Uncle James, we will miss your humor. Your love. Your smile. That twinkle in your eyes.
Give Dad, Kim, and Rick a big hug. We will see you all soon. Rest in Peace Uncle James.
Aunt Marylene, Greg, and Elaine. There are no words that will take the pain of saying good-bye away. I wish I could hug all of you at this very moment. Just know he is looking down watching over you all and he will make sure you are taken care of. I love you guys very much. If there is anyway I can be there, I will.
