Jarrod Ryan Damewood's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jarrod Ryan Damewood, who departed from this world on June 15, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on November 25, 1979, in Houston, Texas, Jarrod was a beacon of kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His warm heart, quick wit, and generous spirit touched the lives of anyone who knew him, leaving behind cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come.
The beloved son of Sharlene and Larry Damewood, Jarrod's life was a testament to the values of love, compassion, and integrity that they instilled in him. He is lovingly remembered by his father, Larry Damewood (Elaine); his cherished sisters, Jacquelyn Damewood (Cody) and Sara McMahon (Sean), as well as extended family, friends, and co-workers at the City of Stafford.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his mother, Sharlene; his grandparents, Mama Wanda and Papa Bob Walden, Grandma Shirley and Papa Jack Damewood; his aunt, Elizabeth (Becky) Weldon along with other family members.
Jarrod’s life was a bright reflection of love, laughter, and dedication that he shared willingly. Some of those who influenced Jarrod’s character and direction along life’s path, were his mother/father, siblings, grandparents, Aunt Marlene Walden and late friend Robert (Bob) Swindel.
Jarrod graduated from Pearland High School in 1998, where he fostered his love of mechanics. Jarrod began his career as a mechanic with the HISD-Houston Transportation Department while obtaining his Associates Degree in Business Administration and later transitioned to the City of Stafford in May 2005. He devoted more than two decades to support the City of Stafford-Public Works Department to help ensure the safety and reliability of its Bus Fleet and other equipment. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and dependable professional, known for his meticulous attention to detail, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His lifelong passion for repairing and understanding of how things worked was evident from an early age and remained a defining part of who he was throughout his life.
Jarrod’s love of ‘tinkering’ grew into a lifelong passion for automobiles, vintage radios, and stereo equipment. Over the years, he amassed a collection of vehicles, each of which he took immense pride in maintaining and caring for. His radio and sound equipment restorations brought him great joy and won him awards. His remarkable mechanical abilities were matched only by his generous heart and willingness to help others. He was especially devoted to his elderly neighbors, selflessly assisting them with daily tasks, transportation, and appointments. Through these acts of kindness, Jarrod demonstrated compassion, dependability, and a servant heart that defined his life.
Though he often found contentment in solitude, Jarrod possessed a remarkable wit and sense of humor that could brighten any room. He had a gift for making others smile, always ready with a joke, a clever remark, or a memorable story. Beneath his quiet nature was a kind and compassionate soul whose warmth, authenticity, and good-hearted spirit, left a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to know him.
