Jeanette Felder's Obituary
Jeanette Felder, age 90, passed away on January 11, 2009 at her son’s home in Pearland. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie (Fitzovich) Rountree; first husband, Alfred Shatto and second husband, George Felder; daughter, Roslyn Shatto; son, Dennis Shatto; brothers, William Rountree Jr. and Gordon Rountree; and sister, Katherine Keck. She is survived by her son, Alf Shatto & his wife, Kathy; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Pom Pom.
Jeanette was born on July 17, 1918 in Houston, Texas and spent her entire life here. Family was the most important thing to Jeanette. She enjoyed raising her children, cooking for and taking care of them throughout her entire life. She was affectionately known to them as “Gam”. She loved being surrounded by all of her family at gatherings at Alf and Kathy’s home. Jeanette loved gardening and planting flowers and often wore brightly colored outfits with matching hats. She was fortunate to enjoy good health for all of her life. Her church family was her extended family and attending church was deeply fulfilling to her.
Visitation for Jeanette will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at New Harvest Christian Fellowship, 12216 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77584, 713-436-2400. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm officiated by Pastor Keith Anderson and Pastor Roger Patterson.
