Jessie Lee Barton's Obituary
Jessie Lee Barton, Jr., passed away July 12, 2015 in Pearland, Texas at the age of 89. He was born in Stamford, Texas to Jessie Lee Barton, Sr. and Alvenia Buchannan Barton on March 11, 1926.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Doyle Barton, sister Alvenia Marenic, and sons James Lewis Barton and Richard Maxwell Barton.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeri A. Barton, son Sam K. Barton, daughter-in-law Maureen Cooper Barton, grandson Maxwell Cooper Barton, and granddaughter Amanda Doshier Loy and three great-grandsons.
Lee served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945. His working career involved many aspects in oil field sales and management, including several years in the Middle East and the UK. He was a Master Mason with Cotton Gin Lodge #154. Lee considered DeLeon his home and valued the many people he went to school with who remained his lifelong friends. He attended the Watermelon Festival and school reunion until his health no longer allowed him to travel. He looked forward each week to reading the DeLeon Free Press.
Lee will be taken to Kansas where his youngest son is buried for a family memorial service later in the fall.
